I have just changed the oil in the lower leg and what I noticed is a large piece of white plastic blocking the top oil level hole. Using a tooth pick I can push the obstruction upwards and oil weeps out the hole confirming that I have at least got the right amount of oil back in there, when I remove the tooth pick the plastic slides back down blocking the hole. The object could be floating on the oil??????
I can see a curvature on the object so to my guess it would be around 40mm in diameter and I believe it to be a component of the gear box and not a piece rubbish or plug washer or filler nozzle etc.
There was no debris or water in the oil when I changed it and I have since used the motor in this condition.
I talked to my dealership and he said there is nothing plastic in the gearbox.
The gearbox has never been apart before, the only thing that has been done to the leg from new is a water pump.
