  • Warning Alarm

I have a new 115 4 stroke with 20 hours on it. Yesterday I started the engine with the engine tilted up. I immediatley realized my mistake and tilted the engine down into the water. The engine wasn't out of the water more than about 10 to 15 seconds. An alarm came on with the engine in neutral. The alarm goes off when the engine is in forward or reverse. The engine runs fine and throws plenty of cooling water and does not overheat. I can't figure out what the alarm is for and how to turn it off. Your help will be appreciated.

either you have water in the fuel filter or the water detect is bad.
water in the fuel will only alarm in neutral.
