  • replacing water pump

I have a 2000 Z200TRLY and about to undertake replacing the water pump. I have the Service Manual, but would like step by step instructions for removing the lower unit and water pump and replacing the same. I am also going to replace the thermostats and pressure relief valve. Can someone provide steps?

there is a web site I used to post on that I provided a bolt by bolt, blow by blow, instruction.
    its under rodbolt.
the pressure control valve, easiest way is to remove the driver and computer assy.
be VERY careful when dissconnecting the driver.

          replacing water pump

          Thanks for the website information.

In replacing water pump on 2000 Z200TRLY Yamaha I had considerable trouble removing the woodruff key, had to aggressively hammer out with a punch. After finally getting woodruff key out and removing the impeller plate and gasket I was rotating the shaft and noticed some roughness or noise as I turned it. I had not noticed this before I disassembled the water pump. Is it likely that I damaged something in the propeller shaft housing assembly while hammering out the woodruff key? I am concerned that putting it back together and trying to run that I might cause more extensive damage. Should I try running it or have the propeller shaft disassembled and inspected prior to running. I probably do not have the special tools needed to do that and likely not the expertise.
Also, noticed when removing the lower unit that the exhaust seal was missing. Is there any significance to that?
