  • Troubleshoot fuel gauge

Hello everyone, I have a 2002 ox66 250 hp 2 stroke. My fuel gauge doesn't move from FULL. It shows all the bars on the digital gauge all the time. Is the gauge broken or the sender? How can I trouble shoot it to determine which on is the problem? Thanks

Disconnect sender wire from fuel tank sender and turn key on, gauge should read empty. If does then bad sender, if doesn't then have a shorted pink wire(disconnect wire from gauge and retry to eliminate harness) or bad gauge.

remember, it may take up to 30 seconds per bar to readjust the reading on the gauge.
this is a built in delay to prevent bar scaling in a sea.
