  • 03 115/80 hp jet Yamaha impeller removal??

hello all. need help please. all the manuals i have been able to read about the impeller removal contained older style jet units. i have been attempting to shimm my impeller closer to the housing. with one problem i cant remove the impeller. i have the nut off and it looks as thought it should be free to slide right out but 2 hours of ****ing, pounding, swearing, beer drinking and more pounding and cursing have yielded the same results.... impeller wont budge. is their a puller that the Yamaha shop uses for the new jet units.
please if any one has any words of wisdom assisting me i would very much appreciate it

    oxygen/acetylyne.
heat it until the nylon bushing melts and it falls off all by itself.
DO NOT attempt to catch it bare handed.
    REPEAT
DO NOT attempt to catch it bare handed.
    I saw it done once.
    wasnt pretty.

after you heat this and melt the bushing does that mean you will be unable to use the impeller again i was hoping to move a cupple of bushings around to tighten the impeller to the cone...thanks for your response

other than the nylon bushing everything will be reusable.
keep pounding and beating and you will get to post about the cost of impellers and shaft bearings.
