    1987 Yamaha1357 90ETLH oil pump problem

    Hopefully someone is familar with this. Oil pump was leaking and found the shaft at the bottom of the pump that attaches to the throttle linkage came out and it appears that a piece broke off the end allowing it to slip by a retaining pin that is in the casting of the pump.

    I do not see as separate part number for the shaft only, only a complete pump assembly. Any body know anything about this?

      Thanks! Disappointing but figures.

      I was planning on doing a complete rebuild this winter so am thinking of removing oil injection for now and doing pre-mix. Do I simply disable the pump by removing shaft and then jumping out alarm wires?

        pretty much. place the old pump back in the hole or make a plate.
