    40hp won't go in gear

    Just recently pulled and replaced the impeller on my 40hp 2 stroke 1993 model. Impeller went back in fine, and I bolted everything up like it was before. Now when I crank it, it's engaged in reverse and has no forward or neutral gear. Any ideas would be great.

    drop lower unit again and make sure to put shifter and lower unit in neutral when going back together

      Ok I figured it had something to do with that, just didn't know for sure. I understand putting the shifter in neutral but is there a certain way to put the lower unit in neutral?
