Default Yamaha 4 or 6 hp outboard

What is the difference in a new yamaha 4 stroke 4 hp and a 6 hp outboard? I would like to buy one or the other. Just need to know why a trollmaster only works on a 6 and not on a 4. Trollmaster only lists the 6 hp model

They are basically the same, same features and same specs. Not familiar with a Trollmaster.

On trollmaster application sheet. The Yamaha 6 hp will work. The 4 hp is not listed. I was just wondering.

I did contact Trollmaster. They did not no why the 4 hp was not on the application list. Their answer was to buy the 6 hp and then I would be safe in buying a trollmaster

seems like someone at trollmaster should know why it was not compatible with the 4.

You probably just talked to a sales person, not someone that has the knowledge of there design and why it will or will not work properly.
may need to ask for a different person to talk to
