Recently purchased a 2nd hand (1 owner) 15hp 2 stroke and any info would be greatfully received on the following:

1)

Serial plate reads (left to right, top to bottom)

15 D

684C S 097248 and the letter C stamped lower right hand corner

I am in New Zealand and believe this outboard to have been manufactured in 1990 - the same year as the boat was purchased by the previous owner - is this correct?

2)

There is a power outlet/pin next to the kill switch - is this what is called a 2P connector? - was told it was 12V-80W.

Would light to set up navigation lights, bilge pump and maybe fishfinder in the future. What sort of wiring to a battery do I need and what is the part required to fit into the connector on the outboard.

Any help would be great!
