I just inherited a flats boat with a 1998 Yamaha 115 on it. Do I need to mix the oil with the gas in the tank, if so, anyone know the ratio? I don't know much about engines...no, actually I know nothing about it. If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

Look on the identification plate on the mounting bracket of the motor and get the model number. Then go to http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outboard...d_manuals.aspx and look up the owner's manual for the motor, its a free download. It'll have all the typical owners manual stuff in there. Do you know for sure that you have to pre-mix the oil? Is there no oil tank in one of the storage lockers at the rear of the boat? What kind of boat is it? Do you have Yamaha digital gauges? If so it's probably a precision blend 115 and should have an external oil tank somewhere. If it is just the C-115 motor then you'll have to mix your own oil at 50:1 ratio.
