  • T60 4 Stroke Break-in Period?

I have a new 2005 T60 4 Stroke and I followed the owner's manual break in period instructions (2000 rpms first hour, 3000 rpms second hour). After nearly 3 hours it will still not turn over 4000 rpms. The manual says it should turn 5000-6000.

I was told by a friend that there is a governor on the engine that will not let it go over 4000 rpms for the first 10hrs. That seems like something that would be in the manual.

Can anyone tell me if this is true or false?

    Thanks

No there is no govenor, if you are only getting 4000 rpm's you need to take back to dealer and get them change prop to get more rpm's.
