'03 70 hp Yamaha impeller

When I went to change the impeller I found I can not access the cotter pin to drop the shift rod.

How the heck do I get to the pin to remove it and more importantly how the heck am I going to get it back in?

Is there some $200.00 wiggle tool to get to this joker...hahaha...

You dont have to remove any cotter pin, the shift shaft has a splined coupler at lower unit and will seperate when lower unit slides down
