  • Wiring a 703 control box to standard gauges

I have a new 2004 90hp 2 stroke w/ the 703 control box and I am connecting to standard TeleFlex tach and trim gauges.

The tach works fine with the green wire, but I can't seem to figure out the trim wiring. The remaining wires, I believe are: yellow, red, and black. Red appears to be constant 12v, yellow is the switched 12v, and black seems to be ground.

    I must be missing something.

    Thanks in advance for advice.

You will need the trim harness (Part# 68F-82553-50-00 16FT harness, longer ones are available) to connect gauge to trim sender on engine.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking something was missing and indeed it is.

It's sort of unusual that there are the wires to add an auxilary front tilt switch assy, but the trim gauge needs another harness. One would think that Yamaha would have pre-routed those wires to the control box.
