mid 90s 15 hp yamaha

I have a mid 90s 15 hp yamaha and it will not get spark. when it quit it started missing then died and will not do anything now. I thought it was the coil and put a new one on it but that did not solve the problem any sugestions? thanks

Disconnect the white wire(ignition stop wire) from CDI and check for spark, if you have spark then the stop switch or wiring is bad, no spark then output voltage and resistance on charge coil and pulsor coil and output voltage on CDI. you will need a Yamaha service manual and peak reading voltmeter to check charge and pulsor coils and CDI
