The issue with impeller happened after I switched to the RV tank. No flush connected of course.

Was leery about even thinking about it weeks ago as part of the procedure. It always has a very weak stream even on the muffs and flush connect imo. Just never seems as strong as low speed idling while underway.

Just not enough pressure imo. Won't be doing that anytime soon
Did you have the RV tank Higher than the water pump?

As high as the cut line between the upper and lower cowling.

Perhaps you impeller was on the way out anyway. I guess you will have to put a new Water pump in this spring.

Take a look at the impeller when you get a chance. It should look similar to this one.

The ones I have seen that have overheated have rough tips. Smeared, bubbled look from heat.

Plastic housing should also be inspected
"Running dry" can produce enough heat to melt the plastic and block the volute

although I would expect that to happen in "seconds"
