  • 1998 Yamaha 200 Diode replacement

    Hello all,
I have ben told by a Certified Yamaha tech that I may be having intermitent ignition diode issues due to my two engines, one then the other, are going into limp mode even after all cooling and oil posiilities have been addressed.

I am having a difficult time locating the diode/s and part number for replacement. Your suggestions would help tremendously.

    Thanks,

    Rayman

Never heard of that. Could the diode create a low voltage problem?

You will need to post exact model number.

The system is designed to put a good motor into RPM reduction mode if and when there is a problem on the other motor. Are you trying to defeat the system?

What are the Yamaha gauges telling you when the problem arises?

But if you want to replace the diodes have at it.

that diode was an optional kit. it allows for one keyswitch to power up various stuff with the other key off.
not very many ever get used. kind of like the onboard built in battery isolator found on most 150 and up Yamaha motors since about 1990.
