  • 2003 yamaha f225 fuel pump problem

Got a 2003 Yamaha f225 been fighting fuel problem on. In the last few months I have replaced both the LP and HP fuel pumps and regained my fuel pressure. Took it out last weekend for the first time since and it blew the 5 amp fuse for the LP pump. This hasn't happened yet. All the connections and wiring is ok and the fuse will not blow with just key on. It didn't happen until the boat was under load coming out of the channel. My question is could the LP pump driver blow the fuse? Can I put a 10amp in place since 5 seems low for a pump anyways?

motor was designed to run with a 5 amp fuse, something is wrong causing it to pull too many amps. you need to find out what that problem is

The lift pump you used was it correct? I would say that its drawing to many amps. Make sure you don't have any air leaks. As one of the experts said "its a dirt simple system" I have been chasing the fuel gremlin for years.
