  • Engine chocks out above 1800.....=

    At Witts end.....
    My early 90's 4stroke 4carb
F100 ,,,,,starts to choke when advancing the throttle above 1500 to 1800 rpm.
    Sometimes it's accelerates ok/normal
Recently more frequently it stalls out when advancing power.
Tried new fuel filter& separator,,, higher octane fuel , tried Yamaha carb cleaner spray,,,,
,great engine when running good ...... ooh boy,, hate the carbs,,,

if good compression/leakdown test shows cylinders sealing properly, good spark on all plugs , timing stays where it should be(advancing)properly while this problem is happening, then you are left with a fuel problem.

    fuel pump and carbs

You can't clean carbs with spray, they need to be dismantled and cleaned properly.

        +1 ^^^.

You may try draining the float bowls and seeing what crap/water comes out(catching it).

Should you pull the carbs, make sure the jets come out and are visibly cleaned / checked
