I have a 1985 115 horse v4 2 stroke Yamaha outboard model #115 ETLK started last week have not had it in the water yet it did not want to idle well. now it won't start has no power to the coils when I crank the motor the wires to the cdi from the stator will hardly light up the test light. is it the stator or low rpm pulser that went bad.

Get a Service manual for your motor and the proper test equipment to test it with

Service manual will give the steps and specs along with the test equipment needed to do the testing

you cannot use a test light to check CDI output.
