  • Fuel Line Rigging Question

Have a 300XCA and 9.9 kicker on our boat.

The dealer rigged our fuel line as follows:

Main line to the fuel filter/separator. Two lines out of the separator. One to the main and one to the kicker.

On the line to the kicker they installed a valve and I was told when running the main to close the line to the kicker to prevent pulling all the gas out of the kicker line / carburetor and running the main dry.

Is this the correct way for it to be rigged? It is a bit of a pain switching when pulling up to run another set.

Plus my boater friends said they have never seen this and that it is not right.

    What are your thoughts?

    Appreciate your time and input.

The line to the kicker should have had an in-line check valve installed to prevent the fuel draining back when not in use.

It is not just draining back the motors fuel pump will be sucking on the outlet of filter

Manual valve is more trust worthy and a check valve more convenient , but that is just an opinion
