  • Prop Shaft Bearing carrier removal

I am new to the forum and new to Yamaha I just purchased a boat with a 2005 200HP HPDI standard rotation. It has been in fresh water as far as I know and has 300 hours on it. I am trying to replace the prop shaft seals and cannot get the bearing carrier out. Soaked it with BP Blaster for days, used heat, used slide hammer, chain and puller all with no success. All of the pulling has been on the bearing carrier using the shaft as the pressure point which is what is shown in the manual. Any secrets any of you can share or should I just keep slugging away at it?
    Thanks
    Jim

once the spanner nut has been removed I remove the shift shaft and thread on the tool for LH carrier removal to the propshaft and attach my slide hammer.
I then use oxy/acetylyne and heat the case.
then remove the shaft and carrier together.
    pops them right out.
