  • Power trim unit for a 115 2T Mod 1993

    Hello guys and girls,

My power trim cannot hold the engine up overnight. In the morning I find it back in the water. I guess its internal seals that need renewing, a job for a spe******t. Question here. Is this a process that gives guaranteed results or could the fix fail? More so would it make more sense to purchase a used or a reconditioned unit and replace it as a whole on my outboard? In this case are you aware of any reputable dealer that sells guaranteed items? Thanks for your time

Usually it is an internal seal or a check valve that is not doing the job.

With any fix, it may or may not work. If it works it may work for a long time or a short time.

Does your model not have a latch that can be lowered to mechanically hold the motor up?

Have you tried pushing down on the lower unit when you are done using the boat to see if that helps the situation?
