    The trick is to shine a torch down, then take picture.
    Cant see much wrong here, but need to see how the top of the engine engages with it. Borescopes (like never going flat LED torches) are a worthy modern day tool.

        Never occurred to me What do you call those sticks that have oil or wax on them that have fire burning on them used for light, as in Raiders of The Lost Arc? I guess technology hasn't caught on as quick downunder.

          Problem solved. The voltage regulator had failed causing voltage to go over 16. I replaced the regulator/rectifier and so far the motor is running good. Did a 15 mile run this morning and it ran smooth.
