  • F300 Mixed paint colorS ???

My neighbor just brought home a brand new Persuit with three, BRAND NEW 300 Yammys (not broke in yet).

The engines (top and mid-section) are ALL WHITE but the lower units are Yamaha grayish blue.
The white appears factory (very sharp), not a repaint.

Is this the way they come or did the dealer change the lowers for some reason. Thoughts?

    Completely normal.

Previously, any F300's seen painted white were not painted by Yamaha. A boat builder or dealer either did it themselves or had a paint shop do it for them.

Based on demand from customers Yamaha decided to offer certain models painted white. But as you note, only the mid-section and above. Lower units remain gray.

Either folks don't care about the lower units not being white (since they are hidden for the most part) or they can pay to have them painted.

Mercury does the same thing in some of their models.

5.3 liter F300's have not been around for a long long time.

I can see by fairdeal picture that it is just not the lower unit, but the midsection too that is blue/gray under the plastic cover.
If its got teats or tires, you bound to have trouble with it....
