  • LX225TXRZ - Driving in steering arm yoke

    Hi there,

I had to rebuild the steering arm in both of my motors. The first one went in smoothly with some hammering using a 2x4 but the second motor is giving me a headache. In the first motor I reuse all parts from a donor motor but for the second motor I re-purposed a steering arm but the yoke is new. The yoke has only gone in like 1/2". Neither the steering arm nor the yoke look tapered, Is there a secret to drive the yoke in? Is a press needed? Thanks in advance,

The bottom portion of the steering arm where the lower mounting bolts are. That's how the service manual call it. Part #10 in the Bracket 2 diagram.

most likely mismatched parts and corrosion.
carefully clean the bracket BEFORE installing new busings.
