Flywheel on my F300 came off real easy, by hand, first time I took it off at 1050 hours. Service manual says to put oil on flywheel bolts when putting back on - not loctite - at least for mine.

i dont have an IR gun, but I'll try to remember to feel one of the flywheels next time out for temp. Probably be several weeks.

wow I did not know all Yamaha flywheels were the same and held on with 6 bolts.
for many many years all the Yamaha lineup use a tapered fit and a key to properly index the flywheel to the crank.
occasionally it would seriously stick together.
I do like the later design that uses 6 bolts.
torque it to about 29Ftlb and another 90* and roll.
