  • Stator vs CDI

On my F60AET/F60TLRA for replace the timing belt I kept the parts on a box that have a few parts from a F50 (including a F50 stator) now I cant distinguish what is from the F60 and what is from the F50 as both looks like the same but the F60 part is 64J-85510-00 and the F50 stator is 62Y-85510-01

My concern is: By fitting the wrong stator do I take the risk of damage the CDI?

Are there any markings at all on either the stator or rotor?

Can you measure the resistances of the stator coils to see if they are the same? Can you measure the OD of the stator assemblies to see if they are the same?

The same rotor cover, magnetor base and pulser coils are used on both the 62Y and 64J parts.

My guess is that using a 62Y stator/rotor with a 64J CDI (or vice versa) would not harm anything. Would performance change? Don't know.

      Hi Boscoe

Check resistence must be a good option.
If a diferent stator part # will not damage the the CDI I dont think will affect the performance.

      Thanks
