I have this 2009 2 stroke motor. It runs really rough at low revs, but perfect at higher speeds. I have taken it to 2 dealers who say this is normal. But it runs quite rough and would like to get it fixed if possible. It is the 2 cylinder 1 carb motor.

They do idle rough compared to a 3 cylinder model.

I rang Yamaha tech support & they recommended the following to help with this problem. Replace the thermostat for a hotter one, should help at low speeds in making sure the plugs don't foul up as easily as they do with the engine running colder.
Has anyone tried this & has it helped with the running of the engine?
