  • 500 Hour/11 year service

    Guys,
2001 F25 ELHZ motor. I will be taking her in for the 500 Hr service.
This is what I am thinking of asking to be done:
New water pump and housing. Done 300 hrs and 4 years ago.
New Timing Belt. Never been done.
Check valve clearance. Done 300 hours ago and 4 years ago
Torque head and exhaust cover bolts.
New Thermostat and Gasket. 300 hrs ago and 4 years ago
New fuel pump. Never been done.
Check the exhaust guide and manifold. Never been done.
Lower unit to be pressure and vacuum tested, and probably have the seals replaced. It had a bit of water in it for the first time last December.
The motor runs and idles fine.
The Carburetor has never been touched, and this is my big dilemma: Should I ask for a curb cleaning or not? I have 10 micron filter installed, I always use ring free and marine stabil in the fuel, and I drain the curb a few times a year.In addition I did a shock treatment with ring free two times so far. The last one was done this past December, before winterization. She is however 11 years old now. Any parts prone to wear in the curb that need to be replaced yet?
Am I missing anything? I had 11 years of trouble free operation with her, and I want to keep it that way. If there is anything else I should have done, no matter how minor it may seem, please do let me know. Thank you!

Might need to check anodes, Carbs are usually repaired as needed, if engine runs good probably ok.
