  • Oil Leak on Tilt F115 AET

Can anyone help, I have 2002 F115 that has so far run faultlessly, however it now leaking oil ( although at the correct level ) when the engine is tilted, the oil also alarm sounds when first started after the motor is down, then on restart the alarm is off, I understand that there may be an issue with the oil pump seal and the power unit may have to be lifted but before pay someone to do it I need to confirm this is in fact the issue, any comments would be most welcome.

    Thanks.

The power head would have to be removed if it is the leaking from oil pump.

Thanks for your response, I have now identified the problem, the bottom ( and likely the top) seal in the pump is worn, I understand this is not uncommon with this model, and there is a modified pump now available, the only question is what is the oil pump part number the model is F115AET 68V 306719, also if you have some indication of price that would help, thanks.

in the states there was a recall(90) code on the original pump design.
you will need the pump, mounting orings and powerhead gasket.
