I changed the oil in the boat this morning.
I must have been still sleep walking?

i added the oil into where the dipstick goes instead of the oil receptacle.

i realized it when i was putting in the last quart.

My question is will this be ok or will i risk damaging the motor?

How long does it take to pour a quart of oil down the dipstick tube?

2.5 seconds longer for the first quart
25 seconds longer for the second quart
2 minutes for the third quart
3.5 minutes for the 4th quart
5 mins for the last quart

Should all go into the same place is my thoughts.
A lot of people suck the oil out the dip stick instead of draining

dip stick goes directly into the oil pan.
some models use a dip stick tube.
that would be why as the sump level rose it took longer to add.
as long as all the oil is in the sump and the stick reads good, your ****.
