  • hoses going into ox66 airbox

Hey guys, as topic I'm wanting to know what the two hoses going into the ox66 airbox are for? They look like oil lines? Overflow from engine? If so can I safely remove or block them so that I can run without airbox? Thanks!

You can safely unhook but why...don't plug

the small black one is the oil tank vent, the other is a vacum line into the crankcase to remove fuel/oil spit back from the air box.
not reccomended for extended runs with the air box off.
in fact I see no reason to EVER run with the air box off.

thanks for replying to me, the reason why I ask, is because I ran motor without airbox, and gained 200rpm WOT, as well as using 2litres an hour less fuel at cruise, so was considering running it without the airbox all the time.. obviously if you (rodbolt) think it's not a good idea, I'll run with airbox on and forget about it!

I would not reccomend running without the airbox for extended runs.
the air flow is calibrated to include airbox resriction.
certain carbed motors will actually burn pistons if run without it.

Ok thanks for that! The airbox will stay, not worth the risk!
