  • Fuel pump diaphragm replacement interval?

Both my 2005 90HP 2 strokes run fine (done 900hrs) but a mate suggested I should have changed the fuel pump diaphragms every 2-3 years. I have never done this to date - any views on how often they should be replaced?

Mine is a 1999 90C Yamaha and I just put a new fuel pump on last year...no real problems with the old one, but for $50 figured why wait until it quits?...I saved the old pump just for a spare. It's impossible to predict when something like these pumps will fail, but the whole trick is to replace it Before it quits!....same with the water pump impellers!
