  • steering bracket assy and locking bolt

    Is there a hole or slot in the steering bracket assy. for the bolt to go into so the engine when you are towing the boat it dont sway back and fourth .Or is it solid. 2008 25hp

    No, if it's a tiller handle model does have a steering friction screw that can be tightened but most people just use bungy cords to secure when trailering.

      hole in the assy

      what would happen if a hole was drilled into the steering assy behind the friction bolt

        As far as I know it's never been tried, not sure.

          Maybe invest $25 in a Transom Saver and solve the issue?
