OK, I have a 2006 Yamaha 70hp tlr, the steering cable was replaced not too long ago. Now it won't steer. If I remove the steering cable and turn the wheel, it goes in and out (left or right) but when it's installed, it won't steer. So I think the clamp bracket is bent and wont let it move.

With the cables removed will the motor pivot left and right?...maybe locked up pivot bearings?...If the steering arm is bent, then it may need to be removed and straightened or replaced.

The motor swivels left and right once I disconnect the cable, so I'm guessing the clamp bracket is bent, so how do I replace that part? Is it a must that I remove the motor?
