          Thanks Rodbolt

          Rodbolt,

I have done the water pump on Mercury 150 HP several times with good results. I pretty sure that I can get the leg off, just want to get the rest of the job perfect or I wont do it.

What to grease, what seals to replace, how to get the leg back on with the gear sequence F R N correct, etc. My manual gives an explode but no step by step. Whatever you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Want to keep newly acquired engine as good as it is now.

Some of the Youtude stuff is good and well intentioned, some is not. I used a good manual to work on the Merc.

Wish you an early spring! Rob

procedure is half arsed at best.
give me a couple days and I will post some pics and a full detail on how to change a water pump on V yamaha engines.
wife is out of town and only the she devil understands the camera.
if you MUST go faster I will try to help.

                        best?
                        prolly not.
                        most diligent? maybe.
I try to say or do anything until I am positive I am right. then Ill argue.
and sometimes get whacked, but I am still right .
I may start the typing of the v4/v6/v8 water pump replacement procedures tonight.
however since 84, when the US first got the v4/v6 engines until present there are MANY sublte differences.
get confused and you may do it wrong and then blame me.
                        not what I want.
the V8 is insane, man is that thing heavy.
pictures may have to wait a bit, stupidity and such .
                        I hate technology.

Wanchese is about 80 miles from Va beach.
I simply dont have the tech savy to do the pictures.
but I dont mind working with an audiance.
