hpdi oil consumption too high!!

i have 2001 twin 200 hpdis that have been run under variuos scenarions in the past 80hrs and they are burning oil at a rate of 30-35:1 and according to many others this is waaaay to friggin high!!!

i have checked the oil linkage and there is very little to no gap in it. other than that i'm stupmed on what else would be causing the excessive use of oil.

soon i will be having 02 sensor and plug problems which i am anxious to avoid.

Both of them are burning that high oil rate? There have been issues with the HPDI oil burning in the past and high consumption. Because the HPDI uses an auxiliary electric oil pump as well as the standard mechanical oil pump its possible the computer isn't turning the electric oil pump off or something. Do you see obvious excessive smoke at start up? Do you have the Yamaha service manual for your HPDIs?
