Digital Tach replacement SW 2 = Generator type (6 pole or 12 pole)

I have a 1997 s115tlrv 2 stroke. How do you tell what jumper to set tach? The options are SW 2 = Generator type (6 pole or 12 pole).

I'm guessing, but I would put the switch on "12 pole" since it is for a two stroke - it should be obvious though, since at idle the motor is going to be approx 700 rpm and at max approx
5000 rpm.
